Taking a somber direction, "The Birds Are My Friends, The Birds Call My Name" is a minimalist drone piece recorded and improvised on guitar live on a rainy afternoon and split into nine parts. Inspired by pigeons, geese, rain, and the most somber of days.
For anybody who experiences the depths of depression, may this be as therapeutic for you as it has been for me...
"I continue to be impressed by this musician and all of his projects (Evergreen Refuge, Cuscuta, Dylan Rupe, Tunica Externa). The common thread through all of Dylan's work is the sojourn that it takes you on. Each album is one epic meandering walk through atmosphere and sound. This is such a soft, minimalist recording of drone and ambient guitar. Listening to it straight through was so meditative. It begs for you to invest yourself in it. And if you do, you'll have done yourself a big favor." -Nicholas Trandahl
