about

For family,
For the sea,
For the vastness of eternity,
Swells, wash over me.

"Awash in the Swells of the Ocean" is an ode to my family, dealing with melancholy themes of death and birth. My Mémère and Pépère were major inspirations for the creation of the album. Both of their ashes were spread in the Pacific ocean. My birth name, Dylan, was also something I meditated upon during the creation of the album. Dylan was a sort-of Welsh god of the Ocean. Dylan was accidentally murdered by his Uncle. The tale tells that the sounds of the waves are the ocean longing to avenge Dylan's death.
